Tennessee Traveler currently offers two models which allow fitment of a wide range of long guns, with future models planned to accommodate even more.

Each model is available in a wide range of trim levels. The U at the beginning of the model number designates “universal”, while the numerical digits basically refer to the length and depth of the case.  (Ex: 4608= 46”x8”). The letter designation “c” refers to the slide retention system.  The original Travelers were designed with a spring bolster retention system and were never designated with “A”.  These were great cases but were not as universally accommodative as originally intended.  The “B” type retention system never got out of development.  Our latest cases use the highly adaptive “C” retention variant which employs a horizontally sliding bolster, capable of fitting the widest variety of rifles within a given length range.

U4608c: this is our most popular case for military surplus rifles, as a wide variety will fit inside it.  Most non-scoped rifles under 45” max length will fit in this case. It is originally designed around the Mauser K98k and 1903/1903a3, but was further refined to also fit the M1 Garand, Arisaka Type 99, Lee Enfield No.1 mkIII and No.4 mkI.  (The G98 Mauser, 1917 Enfield, and Mosin Nagant 1891 non-carbines are too long for this case but don’t fret- A 50” case is slated for development).

U4208c:  this is considered our “carbine” case.  It will accommodate a wide range of weapons with a maximum length of just under 42”.  It does NOT accommodate a rifle with a scope, although planned future designs exist for such a case.  Some popular weapons this case is designed for include lever action Winchesters  (such as model 94 & similar), Marlin 336 and similar, and various Henry lever actions.  Short shotguns such as the Winchester Model 12 “Riot” and rifle carbines under 41” will likely fit.  Please call if you’re not sure, as we will work with you to ascertain fitment.
